Eastwest operates a term-based study programme. Students may enter the study programme in February or July.
For the duration of their study at Eastwest College, each student is part of a ministry team with a weekly opportunity to be engaged in real-life learning and ministry in the surrounding area. This is not an optional extra for students - this is a core component of the training for ALL students.
A number of students have chosen to pursue their training over a longer period of time or have just taken the subjects their schedule permitted. If you wish to know more about this option, contact us and start exploring the options.
Other institutions may cross-credit elements of Eastwest's qualifications towards degree level qualifications when requested by graduates. New Zealand instiutions will cross-credit classes up to a maximum of one year's study, but they will charge the cross-crediting student a fee to do so. Eastwest Diploma graduates who already hold a first accredited degree can be exempt the first year of a Master's degree with Columbia International University (USA).
While pursuing academic excellence, it is our conviction that academic acheivement should never be confused with equipping for ministry.
To best serve the students who come to us, the churches who send and support them and the Christian organizations who will facilitate them in the future, our focus is getting someone from the point of knowing God's calling to being established in meaningful cross-cultural ministry.
The Flight Plan is a tool which offers intentional accountability - asking from the very start - 'why are you here?' ...and... 'where is God leading you?'
Finding the way ahead can be daunting. There are so many options of countries and ways to work in them. During your time as a student at Eastwest, our vocational advisor will help you identify where and how your God-given abilities and experience can be used.
Eastwest College is registered as a private training establishment by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) under the provisions of the Education Act 1989 and its subsequent amendments.
