Certificate in English for Intercultural Studies - Level 3 & Level 4

Eastwest College offers a level 3 and level 4 certificate in English Language (60 credits each). This is offered for students who would like to enrol for the certificate or diploma course but who don't have the necessary IELTS score. Students use this as an opportunity to bring themselves to the required standard within the college environment before entering the main intercultural studies programme. Each course comprises a series of 12 NZQA unit standards covering speaking, listening, reading and writing. Teaching and assessments are tailor-made to prepare graduates of the level 4 course for the Intercultural Studies programmes.

The entry levels for each course are as follows

  • Level 3 - IELTs 4.5 or equivalent
  • Level 4 - Successful completion of Level 3 or IELTs 5.0 or equivalent

The course has been approved by the NZQA (Essentials of TESOL Certificate, 116230) so will give you a recognized qualification for teaching overseas.
